Wondering how to plan a bar crawl in Worcester? Whether you’re organizing a bachelor or bachelorette party, a birthday party, or a fun night out with friends, we’ve mapped it out for you.
For this pub crawl, you’ll start on North Main Street and work your way towards the heart of Downtown. You can easily switch things up and go in the opposite direction, if you like. It’s a total of 1 mile start to finish. (Check out the route on Google Maps.)
Before your bar crawl, remember to choose a designated driver or plan to use a ride share app like Uber or Lyft. Please drink responsibly, and never drink and drive.
1: Armsby Abbey
Your first stop? Armsby Abbey. They’re well known for their wide selection of craft beers. Not sure where to start? The team there knows their stuff and is always happy to make recommendations. Or, try a beer flight to kick things off by tasting a few options.
2: deadhorse hill
Just a few feet away across Main Street is stop number two. At deadhorse hill, you’ll find a warm, inviting spot with fantastic service. Belly up to the bar and ask your bartender to make their spin on your favorite cocktail or surprise you!
3: Moynagh’s Tavern
All good bar crawls include a classic Irish Pub, and this list is no exception. Opened in 1935, Moynagh’s Tavern highlights the quintessential pint. So, sit down, relax, and grab a Guinness or two.
4: Off the Rails
It’s time to leave Ireland and go South—Off the Rails brings a little bit of Nashville to Worcester. With live music, and tasty drinks including 20 beers on tap and Southern–influenced cocktails, this spot is a must-visit.
5: Notch Biergarten (Seasonal)
Stop five is a prime Downtown spot for outdoor drinking summer through fall: Notch Biergarten at Mercantile Plaza. This seasonal beer garden features drinkable, lower ABV Czech- and German-inspired beers.
6: Odd By Worcester
Next, travel back in time to the 1990s at Odd By Worcester, the 90s-themed beer garden inside the (former) Midtown Mall. You’ll find an ever-changing menu of playfully named draft beer like Best Day Ever, Contra Band, and The Juice is Loose. You can even play vintage video games like Mario Kart and Contra for free!
At this point in your pub crawl, you may also be craving snacks; order pizzas from South Shore Bar Pies here.
7: Worcester Beer Garden
Now, head across the Common to the Worcester Beer Garden. Don’t let the name fool you… this “beer garden” is actually known for its sophisticated drink menu and eye-popping cocktails. When the weather allows, you can also hang out on their spacious and comfy outdoor patio.
8: AC Hotel Bar
The bar at the AC Hotel Worcester is a great place to end your night. It’s a hidden gem for drinks Downtown – the vibe is relaxed and welcoming.
Remember: You can always book an overnight stay at the hotel, too!
