Casablanca is a 1942 American romantic drama film directed by Michael Curtiz, and starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid. Filmed and set during World War II, it focuses on an American expatriate who must choose between his love for a woman and helping her husband, a Czechoslovak resistance leader, escape from the Vichy-controlled city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Germans. (Quoted from Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia) The film is 102 minutes in length.
ValleyCAST, in collaboration with the Ayer Film Society, is diversifying their community building endeavors in and through a feature length film series. These movie events will include a discussion after each screening. They are free and open to the general public and offer inclusive opportunities for Whitinsville and surrounding communities to engage in cinematic shared experiences. The public will view films of consistently high quality once a month in an inviting and welcoming setting. Films designed to promote knowledge of and appreciation for cinema as an art form will be screened. The discussions that follow the movie presentations stand to enhance participants’ film experience and promote community at the same time. Presented by special arrangement with Swank Motion Pictures.

Need Help Submitting an Event on Our Events Calendar?
- Go to the discovercentralma.org website and scroll to bottom of page
- To only enter events into the calendar and not become a Discover Central MA member, click Already a member? Login to your account
- Fill out the information in English to Create an Account and click Create Account
- You will then be directed to a page where you can post events
- Select Manage My Events to enter events into the calendar
- Click Create Event button
- Enter the name in English and dates of your event and select Create Event & Continue
- Add in all event details in English and an image that is under 690 pixels
- When finished, check the box that says Request addition to the Downtown Worcester Calendar
- Click Send to Review
All posted events will be subject to review by the Discover Central Massachusetts and Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District staff prior to approval.
