Patriots Day Celebration at Worcester Historical Museum

April 18, 2022 @ 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Join us on April 18 to kick off school vacation week at Worcester Historical Museum. The day begins with the return of our Revolutionary War walking tour of the streets of downtown Worcester. Led by Salisbury Mansion manager Bob Stacy, you will see the historic sites and learn about Worcester’s role in the War for Independence that we celebrate on this day. Tours begin from Salisbury Mansion, 40 Highland Street at 10AM. Tours are $10 a person and registration is required; please call 508.753.8278. Can’t be part of the Patriot’s Day tour, additional tours will be offered on April 21 and 23. Tours are rain or shine.

To continue the Patriot’s Day celebration, John Hancock’s trunk returns to public view. Stop by Worcester Historical Museum, 30 Elm Street, on Monday, April 18 between 10AM and 4PM to learn more about “the box of treason” and the story of the trunk that was kept from British hands. Who better to tell the story than John Hancock himself? He will be here with his trunk from 10AM to 2PM to tell you more about his role in the revolution and his time spent in Worcester. The trunk only comes out once a year so this is your last chance to see it until 2023. Worcester Historical Museum, 30 Elm Street, open April 18th FREE from 10AM to 4PM. Masks are required at Worcester Historical Museum. “We all got history!” Discover Worcester’s place in the American Revolution.
