DESCRIPTION:Fresh off season 22 of NBC's The Voice\, join Worcester's own\, Cara Brindisi for her last stop on The Snow Globe Tour. You may have seen Cara perform numerous times over the years at Mechanics Hall as direct support for local and national acts.  This holiday\, don't miss her headlining show in The Great Hall with special performances by other artists from The Voice!  The evening will include a mix of holiday tunes\, original songs\, her own renditions of her nationally televised performances\, and stories from the stage.\n  \nAbout Cara Brindisi:\nDescribed as 'perfect' by John Legend and 'hypnotic' by Blake Shelton\, Cara Brindisi is a vocalist with equal parts power and ease. After a decade of performances that include direct support for Chris Isaak\, Tower of Power\, Adam Lambert\, and Dispatch\, Cara brought her talents to The Voice stage season 22\, landing her a spot on Team Gwen. Gwen Stefani acknowledged the soothing and effortless quality to Cara's voice as well as her gift for story-telling. Cara has been writing\, recording\, and performing original music for the entirety of her career\, many of her songs inspired by her initial career as a Music Therapist. Her studies at Berklee College of Music led her to pursue this work\, predominantly with those at end of life in Hospice. DESCRIPTION:call for art \nStrut \na juried members' exhibition of large-scale works \n  \nRegistration Deadline: December 20\, 2022 \nDrop off period: January 3 – 5\, 2023 or earlier by appointment (sign up for a drop-off time here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4faaad2aa7fe3-strut) \n*Options for drop offs before and between the holidays will be communicated closer to the deadline* \nExhibition run: January 12 – February 12\, 2023 \nReception: January 13\, 2023\, 6-9 PM \nPick up period: February 23 – 26\, 2023 \n  \nStrut your stuff at ArtsWorcester this coming January! For this non-juried exhibition\, all artist members are invited to exhibit one artwork that engages with fashion\, textiles\, and style. Prizes will be awarded by theo tyson\, Penny Vinik Curator of Fashion Arts at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. \nArtworks could be wearable or may involve: \n// costume or apparel\, \n// cultural or historical traditions in clothing\, \n// fashion and trends\, \n// gender presentation\, \n// pattern\, structure\, and texture. \nTo make room for all\, wall-hanging artworks must not exceed 36” in any direction including frame. Artworks that stand on the floor or on a pedestal are limited to 90” in height and 36” at the widest point. \nCurrent ArtsWorcester membership is required for all artists at the time of registration. There is no geographic restriction on membership\, but artists (or their proxy) must deliver and pick up all artwork. \nThis is a non-juried\, open members’ exhibition. Each artist member may register one work\, and all registrations must be made online. DESCRIPTION:call for art \nThe Nineteenth Annual College Show \na juried\, in-person exhibition \nSubmission Deadline: December 20\, 2022 \nNotifications: by January 11\, 2023 \nDrop off: January 26 – January 29\, 2023\, or earlier by appointment  \nExhibition Dates: February 9 – April 8\, 2023 \nOpening Reception: February 10\, 2023\, 6-9 PM \nAfter two years of virtual exhibitions\, ArtsWorcester’s College Show returns in-person! The Nineteenth Annual College Show is a juried exhibition open to all undergraduate college students studying or residing in Massachusetts\, in any major. The deadline to submit is December 20 at midnight. Notifications will be made by January 11\, 2023. \nThe College Show has no theme. Bring us your favorite piece from your art class or your personal artistic practice\, or show off your latest experiment. You do not need to be an art student or in an art class to submit.  \nStudents may submit a maximum of three pieces for consideration\, and must complete a separate form for each piece. When submitting more than one piece\, please return to the original link to make additional submissions. \nSubmission is free to students of our institutional partners: Anna Maria College\, Assumption University\, Clark University\, College of the Holy Cross\, and Worcester State University. There is a nonrefundable $5 submission fee per submission for students of any other school. \nThis is a juried exhibition\, meaning that the juror will consider all eligible submissions and select certain artworks to be shown at ArtsWorcester. Come to this low-stakes\, generative writing session for all levels and experience. You will practice a creative process for writing from life that you can repeat on your own. Through writing exercises for personal essay and memoir centered on the holidays\, however you define the holidays\, we will write in community. Sharing your writing is not required. Everyone is welcome. \nGrace Talusan is the author of The Body Papers\, the winner of the Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing\, the winner in nonfiction for the 2020 Massachusetts Book Awards\, and a New York Times Editors’ Choice selection.
