DESCRIPTION:The Worcester Youth Orchestras welcomes all interested students to audition for one of its many ensembles. Whether your a fan of jazz\, band music\, symphonic or chamber music\, we have many ensembles that provide transformational musical experiences\, a welcoming social environment of students from more than 60 communities across Central Massachsuetts. WYO celebrates its 75th Season with many exciting concerts and events at Mechanics Hall\, and be sure to join us for the WY Symphony Orchestra's German & Austrian Tour in June 2023!  \nOpen to students grades 12 and under who study winds\, brass\, percussion\, harp\, strings and guitar. See our website for the various ensembles offered and the audition requirements. We're making Music Together with babies\, toddlers and pre-schoolers. accompanied by moms and dads\, sometimes grandparents too.  For ages birth to five with caregiver\, these weekly classes nurture every child's inner musician.  The award-winning research-based Music Together curriculum is used around the world. Choose from six locations in and around Worcester.  This Winter we're using the Sticks Song Collection\, one of nine different collections used over three years.  \nNot quite sure?  Here are some of the benefits of making Music Together: \n\nStrengthened language and literacy skills\nEnhanced social and emotional development\nPattern recognition ( = math skills in the future)\nLearning to plan guide\, and self-regulate behaviour\nComfort and success as a maker of music – the simple joy of music that lasts a lifetime.\n\nRegistration opens Wednesday\, December 7th.  Winter tuition:  $184.  Discounts available for siblings.  Financial Aid applications available if your family income is below $60\,000 annually.  Tuition includes song book and CD for at home use.

Ms. O’Hara has been hailed by The New York Times as “Broadway musical’s undisputed queen.” Her concerts have gained international acclaim\, spanning from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo. See Kelli this January at the Jean McDonough Art Center’s BrickBox Theatre\, Worcester’s newest and most intimate venue to see Broadway’s biggest stars perform live. \nAbout Kelli O’Hara\nKelli O’Hara\, star of stage and screen\, has established herself as one of Broadway’s greatest leading ladies. Her portrayal of Anna Leonowens in The King and I garnered her the 2015 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical\, along with Grammy\, Drama League\, Outer Critics\, and Olivier Nominations.
