All artwork should be delivered by March 9\, 2023. \nArtist Drop Off Party: Wednesday\, March 8\, 5:30 – 8:00 PM \nCome meet with your fellow artists and drop off your work at the same time. \nIf you can’t make it to the party\, you may drop off your works at any point during gallery hours\, Thursday through Sunday\, 12:00 – 5:00 PM\, or by appointment. Please check our website for holiday hours and closings. \nYou may mail your work(s) to ArtsWorcester\, 44 Portland Street\, Worcester MA\, 01608. Please include a piece of cardboard or paperboard to keep your envelope from bending. If mailing your work\, please include your email address so we can thank you! \nHow it works: \nArtists donate small-scale\, two dimensional artworks. We hang them from the ceiling with old fashioned binder clips and string. On March 11\, attendees will line up at a ticketed event for their chance to grab artworks\, all priced at $20. It’s fast-paced\, fun\, and a great way to add to your collection while also supporting ArtsWorcester. \nHow to participate: \nMembership to ArtsWorcester is not required. Any and all artists may contribute. \nArtworks must be no larger than 5” x 7”. \nArtworks must be flat and light enough to be suspended from a binder clip. We suggest works on paper. \nArtists may contribute up to four works. \nClearly label your work on the back with your name\, medium\, and social media and/or website. \nPlease do not frame your work(s). \nHead to C.C. Lowell for pre-cut 5" x 7" sheets of high-quality paper to get started on your work. Don't forget that ArtsWorcester Artist Members receive 10% off supplies!\nHow to deliver your work(s): \nAll donated works must be delivered to ArtsWorcester by Thursday\, March 9 at 5:00 PM. SUMMARY:Virtual Poetry Writing Workshop with Susan Roney-O'Brien (March)
DESCRIPTION:This virtual poetry workshop is a vehicle for critique\, a time of close reading and thoughtful responses that help craft the written word so that it says exactly what the author intends. The focus is the work itself. Poets are respectful of each other\, value the craft\, understand the courage it takes to have work critiqued\, and make the final decisions about their own writing. Please join us.  \nWriting prompts will be shared with registrants one week before the workshop via a shared Google Document\, and we request you submit your work at least three days before the workshop to give attendees time to read your poem. The link to the Google Document can be found in the confirmation email when you register.  \nSusan Roney-O’Brien earned her MFA at Warren Wilson College and is the author of five poetry collections. She hosts monthly poetry readings\, teaches workshops and coordinates the Stanley Kunitz summer writing series.

SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Impact
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception for Impact: A Members' Exhibition in collaboration with the Fitchburg Art Museum \nFriday\, March 3\, 2023\, 6:00-9:00 PM \nArtsWorcester Main Galleries \nCome by and celebrate the artists of Impact! \nThe natural world has always inspired artists with its beauty\, power\, and the raw materials it offers for artmaking. Today\, in the face of our climate crisis\, many artists bear witness to and represent environmental changes in their work–even as others draw from the beautiful ways humans have shaped and utilized the earth. For this eleventh annual “call and response” exhibition\, artist members are asked to consider humanity’s complex relationship with our environment through artworks on loan from the Fitchburg Art Museum. \nFree and open to the public. \nOn view February 25 through April 8\, 2023.  \nGallery hours run Thursdays through Sundays\, 12-5pm. \nParking is available at the Worcester Public Library (McGrath) Lot\, Federal Plaza Garage\, Worcester Common Garage\, and Pearl-Elm Garage. Metered street parking is also available. Please do not park in the lot across the street from the Printers Building; you will be immediately towed. \nWe thank our friends and partners at the Fitchburg Art Museum for sharing their collection so generously with our artists.
