Transportation

Worcester, known as the Heart of the Commonwealth, is in Central Massachusetts and is accessible by car, rail, bus, or air.

Worcester is conveniently located near the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) with direct access from I-290, I-190, and Route 146. Easily accessible from these highways, you will arrive in Downtown Worcester in minutes. If you don’t have your own vehicle while in Downtown Worcester, you can grab a taxi, or use car shares with Uber and Lyft.

Worcester rail services are located at Union Station, our beautifully restored transportation hub, in Downtown Worcester. There is regular, daily services offered through Amtrak and the MBTA Commuter Rail.

Bus

The Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA) bus hub is located at Union Station. This hub offers service to both inter-and intra-city transit locations via the WRTA or Greyhound or Peter Pan Bus Line services.

Worcester is served by the Worcester Regional Airport (ORH), located just a short 5-mile drive from Downtown. The airport offers non-stop flights with three major airlines: JetBlue, with service to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, along with seasonal service to Fort Myers; Delta Air Lines, with service to New York LaGuardia; and American Airlines, with service to New York JFK. Each airline offers convenient connecting flights to destinations across the globe. For those looking to rent a car, the airport also hosts five major car rental companies: Avis, Budget, Thrifty, Hertz, and Dollar. WRTA also provides bus service to and from the airport, making it easy to reach Downtown Worcester.

Downtown Worcester provides various parking options, including on-street parking, parking garages, and parking lots, so you don’t have to waste time navigating for a parking spot!
